Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

CSS Snap is a Chrome extension with no backend server and no database. This isn't a policy written to sound reassuring — it's a direct description of the architecture. There is nowhere for your data to go, because nothing exists to send it to.

What CSS Snap stores

Everything the extension remembers lives in your own browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local), on your own machine, and never leaves it:

None of this is synced, uploaded, or accessible to us. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.

The one network call this extension makes

When you activate a paid license key, and periodically afterward to confirm it's still valid, the extension sends that license key to Gumroad's public license-verification API (api.gumroad.com) to check whether it's genuine. That's the only request this extension ever makes to anywhere. It happens only when you have entered a paid license key — never for free-tier use, and never in the background otherwise.

Gumroad is the payment processor used for purchases; its own privacy policy governs data related to your purchase (email, payment details, etc.), which CSS Snap never sees or stores.

What CSS Snap does not do

Permissions

The extension requests the minimum Chrome permissions needed to function: storage (to remember your settings locally), alarms (to periodically re-check an active license), and host access limited specifically to api.gumroad.com (for the license check above). It does not request broad host permissions, tab-reading permissions, or browsing-history access.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, it will be updated on this same page. Given the architecture described above, any change would need to accompany an actual change to what the extension does — not just a change in wording.
